FAUX FRAMEWORK
Starting a traditionally-thrown stoneware vessel, I choose areas for lattice to imply inner structure and and age. In each area, I cut off a layer, then incise lattice work. After the bisque fire, I wax the lattice — so it resists glaze and remains bare clay. Then I glaze the entire vessel.
