Wheel Throwing Techniques
This class will provide and
encourage the development of creating ceramic art using the potter’s
wheel. Individuals will create a series of functional and artistic
projects, learning to center the clay, form cylinders, bowls and
plates, as well as basic glazing and decorating techniques. This class
is suitable for both beginners, and those who have previously worked
with a potter’s wheel.
• Ten weeks. Wednesdays,
6:30-9:00 pm. 4/18 - 6/20
Basic Hand Building With Clay
This class is an introduction to
both ancient and modern hand building techniques with clay. Students
will create a series of functional and artistic projects using pinch,
coil, slab, and tile construction methods. This class is suitable for
both beginners, and those who have previously worked with clay.
• Ten weeks. Thursdays, 6:30-9:00 pm. 4/19 - 6/21
The cost per class is $125 for Culver
City residents, $135 for non-residents. Additional materials fees: $15
for basic tools. $10 for each 25-pound bag of clay.
The Classes are at the El Marino Park
Ceramic Hut, 5301 Berryman Avenue, Culver City. The Park is near the
intersection of Jefferson and Sawtelle.
